Howie Car Doesn't Like Anthony Galluccio

In Sunday's Herald, Howie Carr lists the "10 Dumbest Pols of 2006" (earth to Howie, 2004 2006 'aint even done yet), and among the list is one of our very own:

Cambridge City Councilor Anthony Galluccio. A perennial also-ran candidate for the Legislature, which tells you something, when the likes of Alice Wolf and Jarrett Barrios represent the People's Republic. This city hack is bagged twice for OUI, wangles a pardon from then-Gov. Weld, and then gets into another mysterious early-morning car crash. Lately he is described as "troubled," which is code for, well, you know. Memo to Tony: If you don't get a driver soon, you may well find yourself "embattled."

Besides the fact that Carr is one of the only people that actually still use the "People's Republic" moniker, the very fact that Galluccio has made this list makes me like him just a little bit more. Granted, Carr has a point that any more "mistakes" from Galluccio may move him from the "troubled" to "embattled" column but it's really about time to move beyond this OUI stuff. His two convictions are in the past and in the open. The court ruled there's not enough evidence to charge him in the 2005 accident.

Then again, who am I arguing against? Howie Carr? That's hardly productive.
