Marshallow Fluff; The Musical
We've read a lot about Fluff lately, and have been caught up in the modern day implications of this New England favorite. However, this fall, Union Square Main Streets will bring us back to the early days of Fluff.
Main Streets, an organization founded by the City of Somerville to promote local businesses in Union Square, has just announced that on September 30th they will sponsor a production of "What the Fluff." According to Main Streets, the show is a:
celebration of the genius of Archibald Query who toiled here in Union Square to create Marshmallow Fluff in 1917. In an ironic tribute on September 30 join artists, musical and theatrical performers, inventors, and humorists to pay yummy homage to this great American foodstuff in a madcap festival of science meets nostalgia meets urban landscape.
Not wanting to ignore the recent controversy over Fluff, Main Streets has even invited Senators Jarrett Barrios and Anne Reinstein to "lead us in a community tug of war over a kiddie pool of Fluff. "
That's right, a "community tug of war over a kiddie pool of Fluff. "
More info to come as it's available...
