Does Dunkelbarger Need a New Look?
I confess I have no idea who Phil Dunkelbarger is, but apparently he's a progressive Democrat running against Rep. Lynch out in the 9th CD. And, according to Ryan Adams at "Ryan's Take," Dunkelbarger could really use a makeover:
...he needs to wear his sleeves buttoned. Try to wear a jacket, even when parading during Independence Day. Look sharp, look professional, look like a United States Congressman.
I tend to agree with Ryan that, especially a progressive challenging a moderate incumbent, image is important. We progressives are too easily labeled as hippy throwbacks, and it doesn't help when a candidate like Dunkelbarger has relatively long hair but with a receding hairline. On the other hand, I grew up in Minnesota in the 1990's with the late Senator Paul Wellstone who was consistently voted the worst dressed in Washington.
