A few of the day’s notables from other Cambridge-area blogs:

Blog for Cambridge - Council Blogging, Round 4: Kudos to Shai Sachs for the work he’s done over the last few weeks to liveblog the City Council meetings. We all know that legislative bodies meet regularly, but few of us actually take note of their proceedings. Shai’s been doing a great job of documenting meetings that shouldn’t only be reserved for lobbyists and other professional. I guess there’s probably not a huge lobbyist population that hangs around the rather powerless Cambridge City Council, so if Shai didn’t watch, maybe no one would.

Sam Seidel - Kerry Healey Team Using Out-Of-State Firm For “Push Polling”: There’s been some chatter on the local blogosphere about a call Sam got from pollsters using questionable techniques in the Governor’s race. Lest you be fooled into thinking Healey and the Republicans would run on the issues this year, apparently they’re sticking to the old GOP bag-o-tricks.

Somerville Journal Blog - Ride the T for free (right now): David Harris of the Journal staff reported on T-fare-sale going on in progress at Davis Square. Apparently he didn’t know of the T sale that had long been in progress, with the turnstile nearest the Holland Street entrance that allowed passage for just a one-penny fare. I didn’t do it often, but on occasion at the beginning of the month when I hadn’t bought my T pass yet, was out of money in my wallet, and didn’t want to take $20 out of the ATM just for a $1.25 ride, I would take advantage of this trick.
